*Consecutive: where notes are taken to interpret speeches lasting five minutes or more.
Ad hoc interpreting :
* Business: where the client (company or business group) holds the meeting in a conversational mode
* Court: where the interpreter is employed by a solicitor or a court (civil or criminal)
* Public Services: e.g. Customs, Immigration, Police, Probation Service, Social Services.
